Young Woman Seeks Guidance Over Relationship Boundaries and Consent

A 24-year-old woman named Mikey recently reached out for advice regarding her relationship with her boyfriend, a former church sacristan and catechist. Although their relationship began well, Mikey has grown uncomfortable as her boyfriend's requests for physical intimacy have escalated beyond her comfort zone.

However, the requests soon progressed to kissing on the lips and eventually to French kissing, which she initially hesitated to consent to but agreed to out of pressure. "It is not acceptable for a man to disregard a woman's valid reasons for saying no. You have the right to refuse and protect yourself," Kulas stated. He recommended that if Mikey's boyfriend fails to respect the limits she sets, then it would be prudent to end the relationship.
