The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has taken decisive steps to curb the unauthorized manufacture, sale, and distribution of Philippine National Police (PNP) uniforms. In a recent meeting with its accredited uniform suppliers, Napolcom emphasized the need for enhanced oversight and accountability measures to address the growing problem of illegal sellers operating near the PNP National Headquarters and across various online platforms.
"These unregulated activities continue to undermine the authenticity of the uniform and jeopardize the institutional standards," the commission stated.
Napolcom Chief Commissioner Rafael Vicente Calinisan underscored the importance of safeguarding the police uniform as a symbol of honor and professionalism. He promised that "firm and strategic steps" would be enforced to address the proliferation of unauthorized reproductions.
"The PNP uniform is not merely attire; it embodies our commitment to duty, integrity, and public service," Calinisan remarked. "Permitting illegal manufacturing and distribution risks damaging that emblem. Napolcom will strengthen enforcement efforts and ensure that only certified suppliers are held accountable in this framework."
The commission plans intensified monitoring of uniform sales across both physical outlets and online channels to prevent misuse and protect the credibility of the police force.
